play closing refraction (see what I did there)

 okay so my reflection.

I'm going to take this as seriously as I'm going to take it.

To be honest this year has kinda really sucked for me. Yea it's senior year, whoohoo! But like, is it? I'm kinda really tired all the time and just exhausted. I don't know if it's senioritis or what but this has been one of the least enjoyable High School experiences. Now not how I said High-School Experiences, and not years of my life. Everything that doesn't have to do with school was great. I literally got to have fun almost every day. I won awards and evolved. In retrospect this year was pretty cool.

Apart from school. I F***ing hated all of school. This project drained every ounce of energy it could out of me. Sometimes it was worth it, sometimes it probably wasn't. Obviously it's all my fault but. You know. It be like dat.

Anywho in regards to the final outcome, I worked my ass off for this. I literally pulled every trick out of my bag to make this thing look good. Hopefully you guys like it. If not, then... idk i'll cry? no probably not. I think I'll just move on and live. That's what I've learned about this whole process. Sometimes you just have to live. The consequences may suck but living is the important part. It'll all work out. It'll play out however it is time has decided it.

To want to live, is to want to die. (I came up with that)

I realized with this project that I don't want the easy way out of things. I want to make it harder, because if I make it more difficult, It means more.

I just realized I've been spelling Shrek wrong this whole time. (ccr editing)

we're almost there, i can see the finish line...

Okay I edited my CCR. boom perfect amazing. For the commentary, I ended up being at just about 2 minutes, which is right around where I wanted to be. I ended up using some of the chimes I used in the film opening (the title reveal).

And it sounds pretty on theme with what the rest of the film is, I'm very content for how it turned out. Honestly it sounds nice and kinda like a real commentary. I even ended up adding some subtitles to make it look even nicer. I know I know, very intentional.

Now the second CCR... also came out as expected. It looks really old school youtube tutorial-esque I really like it. I ended up putting graphics on the screen for added effect because I thought it really fit in the whole scheme of things. And yea I like it.

Overall I would say, pretty successful post production process.

ccr production post of I ran out of funny things to say.

 okay so i did it.

I filmed my CCRs and they came out pretty on point low key.

I did the voice recording for my director's commentary, as well as the webcam + screen record for the second CCR.

Overall the production of the CCRs was smooth sailing. It wasn't too difficult but I swear to god in another life I must've been mute because saying these scripts was like mission impossible. I just couldn't get it right. Over and over and over and over again I just kept messing up, It was torture.

Nonetheless I got it done. This was a #hugedub in my books

It was kinda hard to figure out how to actually screen record because I've never done this, but I ended up figuring out that filming the script first and then doing the screen recording would work best. And it did. So I was right. Mic drop.

here's a picture of a randomized shreck character.

ccr production ideas of doom and despair

here we go again...

Even though I just got done with this film opening, now I have to make 2 more videos.

yay...

Anywho, I've kinda already talked about what I want to do for my CCRs but i'll go into even more detail

For my first Idea I'm combining the ideas of a director's commentary with a podcast kind of style. I will be solely talking about the film and the inspiration/ contents of it, but instead of it just being me talking with the video playing I'm removing the video all together and taking the podcast element into account. This way, it's not boring. I want to include little chimes and stuff for it as the subsections of the commentary move along. This will set the tone for the audio and also keep the listener engaged and interested. I even made this neat little graphic for it.

It's just a little Canva graphic, nun too crazy.

For my second CCR I'll be taking a more gingerbread man/ straight forward approach. I'm doing a scene analysis with a specific focus on the sound design for the film. This will be fun because I'm really proud of my sound design, I think it's really good. I also want an old youtube tutorial kinda vibe for it because I think it'd be really fun to just try some new stuff out.

For both of these CCRs I've taken on the "short and sweet" approach. A lot of the examples I've seen are kinda boring and I don't like them so I think that a shorter more concise CCR is the way to go.

ccr post of ginger bread man

finally it's coming to an end...

I lied again. Here's the rest of my script. I'm not even gonna beat around the bush or anything, here it just is genuinely.

I chose ginger bread man because he is the most straight forward of all the characters. No funny business kinda guy.

The second half of my video will be very straightforward, much like Mr. Bread-Man. Yea, that's how formal we're getting.

Anyway, there really isn't that much to say apart from that. This second half really is just a personal reflection of how I couldn't have gotten here without the devices I used. I understand that this question is made to see how we're learning about the different methods of media distribution as well as how we've put what we learned into practice (or at least I'm assuming that's what it's for), but for me it was a kind of "stop, think about this, then move on" kinda thing, where I thought about how far we've come, and then kept going with my life. And yea. That's all I have to say about that.

ccr post of lord farquad

 hola, yo soy matias

For those of you that don't speak Spanish, that means this blog post is for my third question of compulsion. For those of you that do... congrats.

For my 3rd and 4th question I decided to do a Youtube style analysis with the webcam and everything. Obviously I'm not using a webcam, but I am using screen recordings of what I'm looking at because I'm just like dat.

This will focus strictly on technical aspects of the sound design as well as the production process of said sound design.

Here is half of my script and I pinky promise that this time It is because I don't want to give it to you...

definitely...

Moving on.

I really want to go for that old youtube tutorial vibe so I literally searched up "Premiere pro tutorial 2012" and this showed up. I'm not kidding that like verbatim what I searched up.

this is kinda the vibe i'm going for.

Looking at all these examples makes me realize how advanced premiere has gotten, even though sometimes it's a useless piece of work that just doesnt want to work. I'm convinced my premiere pro in specific hates me
I didnt know my text could do this
